Inspiration for his artwork is American Pop Paintings. This can be seen by the technique involved in his work, the use of collage, photography, mixed media and connection to texts. In addition, in his paintings an influence can be found by the works of the artists Raffi Lavie, Yehezkel Streichman, Avigdor Stematsky and Lea Nikel with the hovering and prominent color stains. Many of his works from the 60's and 70's are characterized by collage. Garbuz tended to take photographs and newspaper clippings and paste them on plywood that served as the work surface. Through the use of newspapers in his art, Garbuz addresses to subjects such as history, with humoristic and critical statements. His wife is his usual model in his art and stars in different places and positions. The art Garbuz makes has many details and different images. His painting technique involves layers of sketching, colors and paste.
