Elkana Levi is a yeshiva graduate, a paramedic, and an artist. Levi’s work is full of contradictions, much like his own persona as a yeshiva graduate who strives to follow most of the Jewish laws but simultaneously questions God and his existence. Since October 7th, Levi has been serving in the reserves and has only been able to draw small sketches. During the first break since returning home after months of fighting, he stood before the canvas and created this moving painting that captures the Israeli reality.
