Iddo Marcus is a multidisciplinary artist who deals with various fields of art, including: drawing, printmaking, painting, sculpture, video, installation and photography. Marcus is known for his series of miniature installations, featuring hundreds of paintings created in different periods. These exhibits have been exhibited throughout Israel and around the world, and are in many collections. His works deal with both the local and the global, and are created in a variety of styles, mediums and ways of display. They are characterized by movement and density, and often deal with the tension between the single iconic image and the digital multiplicity. This is in connection with digital theories and the tension between the personal and the public, the identifiable and anonymous, the figurative and the abstract. Marcus’ choice to work with materials he collects from the street and across the web also connects the personal with the general, emphasizing first and foremost his love for color and abstraction with clear handwriting, which has emerged in recent decades as a very special creator in the local landscape.

Marcus was born in Boston, and currently lives and works in Haifa. Marcus graduated from Beit Berl College of Art and from art studies at the University of Haifa. Marcus has had solo exhibitions and participated in group exhibitions in leading museums and galleries in Israel and around the world.
