Cube 5, 2021,
Sculpture in ceramic material, 40X43X43 cm.
Signed and dated.

Sharon Brill, plastic artist creates mainly in the medium of sculpture, ceramic material and porcelain. The work "Cube 5" is part of a series in which Sharon deals with the dialogue between organic forms full of movement – and static, rigid and stable embodied by the shape of the cube. The shapes of the material are dynamic, amorphous, sometimes embedded in the faces of the cube and appear to be part of it – twisted, overflowing, bursting out of an inner space outward or inward. The shapes sensuality seeks an independent presence. The cube defines the boundaries of space and areas of occurrence, but also serves as a reference space for the forms of movement, being completely opposite to them. In this series, Sharon stretches the boundaries of the language with which she creates ceramic material while searching and investigating the exact dosage between the elements, in the dialogue between them, in the material as well as in the layers of emotion; In presenting symbiotic versus separate situations, in examining the boundary within which each element maintains its uniqueness and characteristics in the face of blurring and assimilation into each other. The work was created from ceramic material using techniques that combine wheelwork and handwork, as well as incorporating other materials such as American squirt and acrylic paints. The ceramic material is burnt at a temperature of 1200 degrees Celsius.

Sharon has exhibited her works in solo and group exhibitions in Israel and abroad, including group exhibitions at the Israel Museum Biennale in 2016 and 2023, and at the International Ceramics Festival Mino ’14 Japan Exhibition.
